Wow nostalgia. Had the lynx and was a great portable system. I brought it every where including in the airplane to Hawaii every year to visit my family out there. Countless hours playing that sports 🏀 package game , blue lightning, rampage , rygar, and others. And also had the turbo grafix 16 lol. Good times

The reason Way of the Warrior sold at all is simple. When it was released it was in the height of Mortal Kombat’s popularity. It was a 3DO exclusive. There was no arcade version to try it first. There was no UA-cam and no reveal trailers. Most people didn’t have a 3DO due to its hefty price tag. The only way to see it at all was in screen shots in gaming magazines. At the time it looked pretty good and with no way to see the gameplay up front it was a blind buy that featured White Zombie music.

The megadrive port of the second game was my first experience of the franchise. I didn't realise how much had been added to the game compared to the arcade until much later. The no jump+shoot thing always annoyed me.

its interesting to compare rolling thunder 2/3 to Elevator Action Returns.. EER is so much a better "rolling thunder 3" than RT3!

No mention of the hidden character in 3? Anyways, the entire video seemed a bit dismissive of the series, and offended it was welcomed on Genesis. But back in the day, quality droped fast once you left the top tier games. Rolling Thunder 2&3 were a great alternative to all the Western titles with mandatory hits, bad color, and GEMS abuse. I rather enjoyed this style of walking simulator.

Great coverage of the game. My favorite part was, "This is Jay, not that you'll notice... or care". I never heard of this series when I was a kid, it wasn't until the last few years that I came across it. The jumping from upper platforms and ground level and hiding behind boxes really reminds me of the Shinobi series

In my opinion U.S.Gold / Tiertex were a terrible duo, doing poor quality ports of everything they put their hands on. Nice video btw.

I actually loved Way of the Warrior and never understood why it got such a bad rap. It was a lot of fun and had a surprising deep combat system. All the characters and arenas were unique and full of personality.
